The Community Learning Center aim is to provide life enhancing programs for all members of the Family.
Some of these programs/classes can be enjoyed by all members of the Family, while some are age specific. There are many course offerings, short and extended, as well as computer classes and Conflict & Anger Management through Creating Music and Songs Workshops.

*How To Write A Great Movie: An Introduction to Screenwriting
Instructor Steven Arvanites
Develop your ideas into stories on this intensive six week course. If you have a head full of ideas this course is for you. Do you love movies? Did you ever go to a movie and think, I could write that? You can take your great idea to a full script and have a great time doing it. Learn screenwriting from an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker. With effort on your part you could have a screenplay written, even sold and made into a big Hollywood blockbuster!
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS CLASS: Turning ideas into story Where to find scripts to read (on line and in stores). Software writers use. What a “pitch” is. Get your script into to a producer. Screenplay Structure. How to write SCENES, DIALOGUE, and ACTION. What is an outline. What is, and how do you write a beat sheet. What is, and how do you write a treatment. Character Development. Conflict of characters. Rewriting. Opening 10 -pages. Putting it all together. What is a Reader’s Report
About the Instructor:
Founder of NYCscreenwriter.org, Steven Arvanites heads the largest screenwriting organization in New York City that is free and open to all writers. The mission of this institution is to provide education, support and networking as well as
workshops including the acclaimed Industry Chat Series. A noted teacher, Mr. Arvanites has taught at the Writers Store, Unicorn Writers Conference, Northwest Screenwriters Guild in Seattle, Atlanta Writers club, San Francisco Film Society and a visiting professor at Hollins University teaching their M.F.A. screenwriting program. Mr. Arvanites is an award winning screenwriter. He has won semi-finalist honors at Nicholl Fellowship Screenwriting Awards three-times, was a BlueCat winner, Atlanta Screenwriting Competition winner, a Sundance Screen Lab finalist, a Djerassi/SFFScreenwriting Fellowship finalist, a Sundance/Sloan Commissioning Grant finalist and was invited to the Cinestory retreat co-sponsored by the Academy Awards. Additionally, he has placed in 27 other national and international screenwriting competitions. In 2006, he was awarded an Artward Bound residency from the Field, a grant given in recognition of his writing with the sole purpose of creating new material. Mr. Arvanites, whose first narrative feature, I Killed You ‘Cause I Had To, won Best Feature Horror/Thriller at the Dark River Film Festival and the Indie Film Gathering. Also, Cadaver, his Terror Film Festival winning script, was also a winner at the Eerie Horror Film Fest screenplay competition. Helium Man, a short film co-written by Mr. Arvanites, is an official selection of D.C. Short Film Fest, the Beverly Hills Short Film Fest, Atlanta Film Festival & Fort Lauderdale International Film Fest- all 2010. Additionally, Mr. Arvanites is a film panel moderator at the Austin Film Festival and the co-host of Reel Talk for HBO’s Bryant Park Summer Film Festival; he has also hosted at the IFP’s Script To Screen. Steven is a native New Yorker. He graduated from Fordham University (B.A.) and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Just like cars need an oil change the human body collects guck and needs to flush out. All about colonics, foot detox, raindrops massage technique, proper use of healing oils.
